Description
These rugs come from rare Icelandic breeds of sheep, the characteristics of these rugs include a super long fleece with hair of at least 4-5 inches (10-13 cm), much longer than British sheep breeds.
This long fleece is incredibly soft and silky which makes these rugs absolutely perfect to be put on a bed, sofa or chair, anywhere you can snuggle up with them.
As these are from an extremely rare breed of sheep, availability is limited.
All our rugs are trimmed individually by hand, the shape will vary depending on the shape of the individual sheep. Some may be long and thin, some may be wider, some may be symmetrical, some may not. All are beautiful natural products to enhance your home!
Rare breed rugs are smaller than natural rugs – because rare breed sheep are usually smaller – with standards approximately 30 x 20 inch (75 x 50 cm).
