Anniversary – Under new ownership for a Year!
While Wensleydale Longwool Sheep Shop has a long and well earned reputation having been established in 1989, it is a year since we took over the business. It has been a great journey for us, especially meeting many of you in Store and at the many Events we have attended. Thank you for your custom and continued support! And thanks especially to Ann and Ruth, the previous owners, who continue to be supportive to us and have a continued relationship with the business.
Over the last year we have continued to develop the business, introduce more exclusive products, an online store, attending new shows and developing our social media presence.
Due to the increase in raw material and production costs of our own brand Wensleydale Longwool yarns we are having to increase the price of our Aran, DK and 4 Ply, having held this increase back as long as we can. We are delighted to now be working with Laxtons, who have a fabulous reputation for quality, and we continue to manage the end to end process ensuring that our yarn is all spun, dyed and finished in Yorkshire, before we bring it back to our Shop in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

Bakewell Wool Gathering
Freshly returned from Yarndale and Masham Sheep Fair we are now preparing for Bakewell Wool Gathering, set in the heart of the Derbyshire Dales, on 14th-15th October.
Kendall Wool Gathering
Also, at the end of October (28th-29th) we will be in Cumbria at the Kendal Wool Gathering.
