NEW: Sheep Shop Tweed 4-Ply yarn
Recently added to our Online Store is our Sheep Shop Tweed yarn.
It’s is 100% Pure New British Wool in a variety of colours and naturals. A quality 4-ply worsted spun yarn supplied on 25 gram donut balls and very soft and squishy. It has a consistent thickness of thread with a good stitch definition and grip, which makes it ideal for Fairisle knitting.

Also new to our online store is some supersoft pure British wool DK yarn by the Yorkshire Dales Wool Company.
Supplied on cones either 500g 0r 430g depending on colour selected.

NEW: Stripey Gansey
A contemporary twist on a traditional garment. (Tash is wearing Aubergine and Spruce). The Wensleydale Stripey Gansey is knit flat in Wensleydale Sheep Shop Double Knitting (DK) yarn. Supplied as a knitting kit, which includes the pattern and the required amount of wool for the size and colours you select – please consider adjusting the quantities if you want it longer.
Can be worn fitted or loose, depending on preference.
NEW: River Ure 4-Ply Wrap
The sumptuous Wensleydale River Ure Wrap is knit with 4 ply Wensleydale Longwool and shown here in colour Alice Blue.
Designed by Helen James exclusively for us, inspired by the meandering course of the River Ure in Wensleydale.
The Wrap is constructed to be versatile and to provide a beautiful shawl, ideal for those cool summer evenings, or can equally be worn as a warm, stylish scarf and/or head covering.
This knitting kit includes the Pattern and 5 balls of Wensleydale worsted spun 4-Ply yarn in the colour of your choice.
Shop reopening!
Our retail Shop in Leyburn will reopen to customers on Tuesday April 13th 2021, when we’d love to see you! We expect to be open on our usual trading days of Tuesday to Saturday and are busy re-stocking our shelves. We are expecting a delivery of Sheepskins and Throws tomorrow (1st April 2021), which we’ll get straight onto the website as I know some of you are waiting for them. We’ve also just re-stocked the popular lanolin based Mitchells products which are fabulous for over-sanitised hands!

Covid secure precautions will still apply in the shop for now (social distancing, restricted numbers, mask wearing, hand sanitiser and contactless payments preferred).

As for the return of real Wool Shows, keep checking our Shows page. We will add them as soon they are confirmed to us. Depending upon any size and crowd restrictions, we expect to see Shows taking place in late Summer and Autumn, but not much before then, other than virtual shows.
