Wool Shows status
Thank you to everyone who visited us at the Stitch Festival in London. It was good to put faces to some of our regular online customers!
Since then the Covid-19 coronavirus has been changing the way we behave in our daily lives and may cause disruption to future Wool Shows.
Already the Yorkshire Yarn Fest, due to take place on Saturday 21st March, has been postponed. Instead they are taking the novel approach of running a ‘virtual show’!
#VirtualYorkshireYarnFest will take place from 9am (UK) on 21st. It will run ONLINE, via Instagram and websites. Please join this unique event if you can! Check their Instagram and Facebook pages for details. Their website had not been updated at the time of writing.
Spring into Wool, Wonderwool Wales, Rheged Knit & Stitch and Buxton Wool Gathering are all monitoring the situation, but at this stage all going ahead – our website will have updates if this changes.
Our Shop is still open
Our Shop in Leyburn is open as normal, unless we are forced to change this. In which case updates will be posted on our website and social media. We are taking extra hygiene measures and disinfecting surfaces.
If you are not able to visit us then a safe option is to shop online. Alternatively, you can email or phone us with your requirements. We would appreciate your support in these difficult times.
Mitchell’s Soaps
With increased handwashing required during the current health crisis we have seen a surge in orders for Mitchell’s Wool Fat Soap and other skin products.
This very gentle soap is particularly soothing to sensitive skins and has often been recommended to help alleviate certain skin complaints. This is due to the lanolin (wool fat) that it contains, a natural product of the wool industry. Try some! We have Hand Wash and Hand & Body lotion in stock too.
